Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah works as an Indian playback singer, actress and musician. The majority of her work comes focused on Tamil or Malayalam-language films. Annayum Rasoolum, a Malayalam film made her Malayalam acting debut. Andrea Jeremiah was raised in a Tamil Nadu Anglo-Indian home. Her father is a Madras High Court lawyer. Her sister, who is younger, is a research assistant from Belgium and works in Leuven. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea was an eight year old classical pianist who was also extremely geeky. At age 10 she was in a group of the Jackson Five called Young Stars which formed the base of her early performing and music composition career. She worked as a stage performer at her school and took part in several plays produced in the form of The Madras Players, EVAM as well as other theatre companies. She was president of the Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea's theatre career began with Girishkarnad's Nagamandala. She starred in a leo commercial along with actor Shiva. She also appeared in a show that was broadcast on Podhigai. She performed throughout India. She played a minor role on the Kanda Mudhal final (2005). Gautham A. Menon invited her after she appeared in the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu film to be featured as the lead female character on Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed, with Andrea playing Kalyani an aspiring homemaker, who's husband is involved in an affair, and then is targeted by a blackmailer. Andrea was selected for the part following Simran and Tabu both actresses were approached by the producers. The film came out in the early 2010s. It was first released as part of Venkat's Mankatha in 2011, in which she starred alongside a variety of actors. Annayum Rasoolum, a romantic film directed by Rajeeev Ravi, released in 2013, marked the actress's Malayalam debut.
